drag it; calculating a new ending for the music to match the

Applying Custom Length
Use Sonicfire® Pro’s Custom Length feature to perfectly match
the length of the soundtrack to your edited scene. It has been
a landmark in Hollywood to edit audio and visual to correlate,
since it adds tremendous emotional impact and polished
professionalism to any project. Our Custom Length feature also
gives you the freedom to work out your scene knowing that
there will definitely be a Smartsound track to go with it, no
matter the parameters. If you want to maintain the integrity
of your visual after adding music, Custom Length is the right
tool for you.
Mood Mapping

What’s your mood?
Set Mood keyframes to change the instrument mix at precise
points on the timeline. Use these keyframes to automatically
change the mix to match the appropriate intensity, texture,
emotion, etc., of your scene as it changes.
Transition time
Control the transition between moods with this slider. Make a
subtle transition by setting it longer or set it to zero to
make an immediate transition that emphasizes a change in your
video.
Applying Mood Mapping
Mood Mapping is one of the most powerful tools available to
Taylor music to your video’s changing dynamics, energy, and
emotion. Use it to accompany dialog and adapt the mix to the
respective speaker’s energy level and tones. You can also
increase intensity as the scene progresses, or decrease it
after an important event or climax. As with Timing Control,
Mood Mapping is unique to Smartsound and gives you with full
control over what the music is doing at any given point in
your video. If you want to change the location of a Mood
keyframe, just click and drag it to a new point on the
timeline.

Timing Control feature allows you to easily move special beats of
the music without losing the rhythm or length of the music - and
now does it more accurately with better results. Like all
Smartsound features, no music experience is required.
Beat Alignment - On Steroids
„Timing Control Beats“ are the new update of one of the most
unique features available in the media-creation-industry.
These are beats we’ve identified to consistently yield the
best results. Now, when you move these beats they will snap to
the nearest strong beat and always create an accurate, musical
output. When you move a Timing Control Beat, the patented
feature retains the location (in time) of your music ending,
as well as the integrity of the music piece, as best as
possible.
Applying Timing Control
When working with music and picture, you will inevitably want
to emphasize an event or transition in your movie with a
distinct musical change. With Sonicfire® Pro 6’s newly
improved Timing Control capabilities, you can move a beat to
align with the events in your picture by simple drag-and-drop
method (to retain the music’s integrity it will jump to the
nearest strong beat). If a song starts out slow or develops
too quickly to fit your video, you can simply change the
parameters to customize it to your specific needs. The use of
Smartsound’s new updated Timing Control is only limited by
your imagination.
Alternate Arrangements
Create alternate arrangement options, instantly, at any length.
Adjusting a soundtrack to get the exact right feel is what
Smartsound’s Sonicfire® Pro Variations is all about. Each track,
based upon the length you set, comes with multiple variations or
different ways the track is put together. Simply put, these are
variable sequences of different parts of the music (i.e. verse,
chorus, bridge becoming chorus, bridge, verse). Love the sound but
would like to tweak it just a bit? Try a new variation. Alternate
Arrangements or variations are inherent in changing the length of
a track. Try them yourself.
A Wealth of Arrangement Options
Alternate Arrangements have a very powerful secondary benefit.
When combined with Sonicfire® Pro 6’s Mood Mapping technology,
these two technologies, can create strikingly different
versions of a track - so different infact that it sounds like
a completely new track. This is why Smartsound’s library is
equivalent to other libraries with hundreds of thousands of
tracks. Ours however are all available at the touch of a
button and under your complete creative control.
Define the Music Flow
Simple pop-up menus will display a set of alternative
arrangements for any length you enter (four seconds and
above). These alternate arrangements give you incredible
options for defining how the music flows with your video and
managing how the various sections of the track play through
your scene: Need more intensity early in the scene? Select the
Variation with the later, more intense sections of the track -
this level of control is a few klicks away.
Applying Alternate Arrangements
Whether in the Search window or the Inspector, simply chose
the pop-up menu labelled “Variation”. At most track lengths
you will typically see several options for any length.
Audition them to choose the variation that reflects the
emotions and flow of your scene best. You will be amazed at
the variety and power this gives you to tailor the perfect
soundtrack to your video. Additionally, when used along with
our Mood-Mapping-technology, Variations can be manipulated to
help build or decrease the music’s intensity over the length
of a scene. Incredibly useful, incredibly powerful.

The exported marker set or XML of a Smartsound track becomes
your guide to fast video editing that will assuredly work with
your customized soundtrack. Using the track-info in your
timeline provides you with a guideline that lets you align the
music with your video. It’s an easy and fast way to cutting
picture to music. Before applying the Cut-Video-to-Music
feature, make sure to use Sonicfire® Pro’s Custom Length,
Timing Control, Mood Mapping, and other features to get the
perfect soundtrack for your project. Export the
Cut-Video-To-Music marker set or XML for your finished track
into your timeline and start aligning the beats, bars, blocks,
etc, to your video for the perfect fit. Using
Cut-Video-To-Music along with Sonicfire Pro’s other great
features results in an absolutely flawless fusion of the audio
and visual.
Hit Files
Instantly add accents with percussive and production elements to

When an on-screen-event calls for a musical hit or sound effect,
the “Insert Hit File” feature will come in handy. Sonicfire® Pro 6
comes with a collection of cymbal swells and crashes, whooshes,
and dozens of other sounds that add an extra effect to a specific
event in your scene.
Perfect Position
Hit files vary in where their peak sound lies, but Sonicfire
Pro 6 automatically adjusts each hit file so that its peak
will perfectly correlate with the position you determined the
sound to appear.
Cycle Through Hits
A keyboard shortcut allows you to quickly cycle through all of
the available hit files. It will automatically play 2 seconds
before and after the selected file, giving you a convenient
way to decide which sound works best for our project.
